Location: New York, New York Girls Quest is looking for a full-time Mentor Program Assistant to provide support to the Director of the Mentor Program in managing various aspects of this community-based mentoring program. The Mentor Program Assistant needs to be available on some evenings and weekends.
Conduct and coordinate various Mentor Program meetings such as, match meetings, goal review meetings, virtual mentor support network meetings and match group events. Bachelor’s degree required with major in Social Work, Sociology or Psychology preferred, and with at least 2-5 years prior experience working with youth and/or families. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish)/multi-lingual a plus. Excellent presentation skills required. Candidate must be organized, efficient, outgoing, energetic, and a self-starter. Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively. Advanced computers skills and knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, familiarity with the Internet and knowledge of or willingness to learn basic HTML programming. Candidates must be ready and excited to work in a fast-paced environment that values teamwork and collaboration, innovation, initiative, planning skills, and a positive attitude. Ability to work independently but also as an integral member of a small team.
